Hi! So this entry is almost entirely photos, because I have so many that I wanted to share. But I DO have some last musings and revelations coming up in my next blog—the last! A very big special thank you to Kelsey for letting me add one more! Blogging this incredible, incredible experience has added so much to my time here and I’ve loved being able to reflect on it along the way like this. Happy Spring!
The view from the standing room global style seats at the San Wanamaker theater, where we saw Cymbeline.
Brick Lane, home of the best Indian food ever!
The best Indian food ever.
Portrait at the Charlotte Brontë Exhibit at the National Portrait Gallery
The set of Nell Gwynne! Such a fabulous, underrated play about the first female actress in the Restoration period.
Original costume sketches from Phantom of the Opera at the Victoria and Albert Museum!
My friend Katherine and I having afternoon tea at The Langham Hotel! We ended up having the Mother’s Day tea because we booked it on that day without realizing it was Mother’s Day in England.
Roller disco. This was one of my most fun nights here and a good reminder to sometimes say yes to your friends’ invitations when you seriously just want to curl up in bed and binge Friday Night Lights (which one of my friends that I went roller skating with that night actually ended up doing later that weekend. See? You can have it all.).
The Maids!! Uzo Aduba was phenomenal, and I was really looking forward to meeting her but she was under the weather. But it honestly means so much more to me that my role models take care of themselves so that they can go out there and give everything to their craft. Uzo gave a truly spectacular performance. Hope she’s feeling better!
At our singing afternoon recital with my teacher Gary!
Amazing chocolates at this place on Brick Lane called Dark Sugars.
Collection of artwork done by a local artist in my neighborhood.
My mom getting french fries at the Portobello Road Market when she visited me!
Afternoon tea at Harrods with my mom! This is going on my all time favorite memories list.
I finally got a picture at my favorite place in London, M&S.
My stage combat final! We did a scene from the TV show Scandal. SO much fun.
One of the rooms of a studio where we rehearsed almost this whole semester, Diorama Studios, on our last day in that space!
Acting in our RP scene! (Which is essentially British accent time.) We did a scene from a hilarious British TV show called Miranda.
People, Places, Things. This is one of the best plays I’ve ever seen. Such an important story. Such an important commentary on struggling with addiction. I literally ran across the street to get pounds out of the ATM so that I could buy this play right after the show.
Cute hotel lobby at Hotel George Astotel for Paris Part Deux! Had to go back for spring break. So much more to see!
Back at the Eiffel!
Went to the top this time! Unreal view.
Chandliers in Napoleon’s chambers at the Louvre.
channeling my inner Madeline by this building in Bastille, the Jewish Quarter. ” In an old house in Paris that was covered with vines Lived twelve little girls in two straight lines…”
Me surrounded by the building Victor Hugo lived in, in the park where he wrote LES MIS. Still freaking out about it.
The end of the most perfect day exploring the Jewish Quarter.
A basic but necessary selfie of my new necklace that I got in Paris at a shop where a woman and her mother make everything themselves!
Notre Dame on Easter Sunday! Beautiful service, didn’t understand a word.
Cheese and cheese and cheese in the Latin Quarter after Easter Sunday service!
My new friend Alison who we met walking around the Latin Quarter! She lives five minutes away from Vassar! That’s us making a P and K for Poughkeepsie?
L’Arc De Triumphe. Feeling small in the best way.
Lido Show at the Champ Elysses!
